| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 31, 2004 Bottle. Nice reddish amber color - just what you want to see in a 'red ale'- topped by a nice off-white head. Caramel malt aroma. I was surprised at the amount of hops in here. It's well balanced, has a good hop flavor and is a good amber ale (not my usual). Not bad at all. Linc (736), Sydney, Australia

Really pleasing malt, nicely balanced with some fresh hop character. Some astringency in the palate limits drinkability, but its still a nice drop, just not Deschutes best.
