Commercial Description:
A medium bodied amber ale, Cinder Cone Red has a rich malt flavor and red color derived from four kinds of caramel malt with a hint of dark roasted barley. Amarillo and Tettnang hops balance the toffee sweetness, creating a refreshing full hop flavor. Available January through June.

Bottle: Another delightful offering from Deschutes as it pours a cloudy reddish brown topped with a small light brown head. Spicy malts, hops and alcohol find themselves in the aromas as well as taste. The bitter aftertaste is refreshing. I guess I would describe the final feel as creamy hops.

So far I have not tasted a beer made by this brewery that i didn’t enjoy. Pours nice reddish color with an off white head. Taste of hops and a sweetness with a little bitterness. A very good tasting beer one I will enjoy until its gone in June.

I enjoyed this brew last time I was in Bend, OR. Nice body with a smooth, creamy feel. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and spices. Just a hint of bitterness in the finish. A treat for sure.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear dark amber with a medium frothy light tan head that leaves behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a light floral hops with some roast and nuts. Thin mouthfeel with a bitter hops with a nice citrus finish. Easy to drink, a very good amber ale from Deschutes.

(12 oz. bottle) A rich and flavorful amber without too much malty sweetness. Clean and crisp subtle hop finish. Another quality product of Deschutes Brewing.

pours a cloudy copper with a medium size beige head, good lacing. smell of roasted nuts, caramel, malt, touch of spice, a little cocoa in the back. taste first hits you with malts, some caramel, pine, grapefruit, roasted nuts, well balanced middle, ends on the bitter side, aftertaste leave the tongue tingling and mouth bitter. overall more hoppy than your fathers amber, well done.

On draft at Hamilton’s Tavern. Pours aclear rust hue with an ivory dollop of whipped froth. Balanced nose of apricots, buttery yeast, melon seeds, and peppery hops. Creamy with a prickly tinge, but palate filling. Toffee-glazed toasted nuts immediately anchor the snappy leathery yeast and earthy hop blend. Intense backside of spicy, fir tip-accented bitterness. Rounded fruity underlay caresses the scratchiness of the mild roast and leathery yeast. Light huskiness at the core comes and goes. Finishes dryly chalky and spicily hop-laden with herbal Tettnang. Stellar session brew which eloquently intertwines vibrant yet forceful hop bitterness with a plentitude of malt,

12 oz. bottle, pours a nice toast/ hop aroma. light head and almost no lace( my glass?) the roasted barley makes this a nice red, not too heavy on hops, just right.
