Commercial Description:
The first traditional Belgian ale brewed in out Portland Brewery. This ale is brewed with Saaz Hops and Belgian abbey yeast. The well balanced amber color delivers notes of caramel with a light and subtle finish. An ale that's worth the Dubbel name. IBU's 14 Alcohol Content 7.1% Snifters Only: $4.00

Caramel colored and cloudy with a small head. Smell is caramel with some spice; cardamom and nutmeg. Flavor is a little watery. Sweet. Toffee, raisins, brown sugar, apples. Feels good and wet going down. Good, but I wish it had a more full flavor.

Winter spiced aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, and dried oranges. Very dark brown, orange hues on the edges. Great use of the spice to compliment and support the beer, nothing fights for attention here. thinner mouthfeel than expected, gulping this was no problem.

Copper with tan head. Malty sweet aroma typical of dubbel. Spicy malty flavor. Good dubbel for an American brewed beer

On tap at the Portland Deschutes pub. Pours dark brown, red hues at the edges, small white head. Sweet malt nose with a nice spiciness to it. Caramel and dark cherry flavors to the malts, soft clove to the spices in the finish. I thought this turned out to be a really nice beer, my only thoughts were a bit more dryness in the finish would have helped.

Tasted &#64; the Deschutes Brewery and Public House in Portland.<br /> Brown/amber colored brew. Yeasty, malty aroma and flavor. Some spices and sugary flavor. Nice try for an abbey dubbel, but they’ve got to add the magic touch..
