| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 31, 2009 Bottle. Oddly calm and visually kind of like an English pale ale. Fruity grainy aroma, quite malty. Nice hop bite with a warming malty mouthfeel. Gentler than say a Hop Head Red, but plenty going on. I would reach for this if it were available locally. vulcanmeister (102), La Grande, Oregon, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2009 12 oz bottle from Henry’s. Pours a dark copper-amber color with a smallish off-white head that has fair retention. The Aroma is moderate in strength with sweet malts, apples and some bready yeast. The flavor is subtle with malts, apples, pears, biter walnuts and some biscuit. The mouthfeel was light and thin with a bit of grit toward the back end. The finish was short and dry with lingering piney hops. Overall: A very sessionable ale with some nice taste nuances, but nothing to write home about.
