Commercial Description:
First brewed in 2006, Deschutes Brewery’s Hop Henge Experimental IPA reappears this year with more extreme hop flavors than ever before. The new formulation is the epitome of the brewery’s experimental style and commitment to innovation, while gratifying their unquenchable thirst for beautifully balanced hoppy beers. The newest incarnation of Hop Henge uses several new hop processes and techniques to create a truly unique and unexpected beer. Several pounds of Centennial & Cascade hops are in each barrel with a heavy dry-hop presence to top it off. A blend of crystal, pale and caraston malts creates an overall biscuity characteristic that is dense and muscular, building the alcohol base to support the monstrous hop profile. 95 IBUs.

Thanks fishingnet for the share. Pours orange gold with a white head. Nose is malt, tart lemon, caramel, and some pine resin. Flavor is malt, citrus, sugary lemon, and some sweet citrus notes in the finish. Medium-bodied and a malty-citrusy finish. Enjoyable IIPA.

22oz bottle. Dark amber with an off-white head. Big hops in the aroma, but on the dull and nondescript side with a subtle mango note. Lean but substantial malt with some biscuit and light caramel. Big hops with a dark woody and fruity quality, ending with a bitterness that overpowers the malt. Medium bodied with tight carbonation. A tricky IIPA to figure out. Nothing really jumps out at you but it makes for a nice drinker nonetheless.

courtesy of fishingnet. pours copper, white head. Aroma is hoppy, floral and citrus Taste is just similar, floral hops with a bitter finish and citrus. Good DIPA, a little more on the hoppy side than I am used to.

22 oz. bottle served in tulip- poured darkened amber with brown (think of unfiltered freshly pressed apple cider) color, low if any carbonation, white ring around the glass. Aroma of caramel, some candi sugar, hops, malt... all the good things in life. Hits the mouth with a high-medium body, malt has a pleasant sweetness intertwined with it and it all holds up swimmingly to the finish. The middle of the tasting displays the hops coming out of the woodwork- finish is slightly acidic and still has plenty of hop bite after the last swallow enters your gullet. Wave that finger because this one is a HOME RUN!!!

22oz. Pours a nice amber with a foamy off-white head. Lots of citrusy and flowery hops in this very fresh aroma that make me anticipate the flavor. Great smooth maltiness with a constant hovering hop bitterness, finishing with a little bit of sweet malt. A little lingering hops. Certainly one of the smoothest and creamiest palates I’ve experienced, as well. Definitely a top-notch beer.

22oz bottle. thanks to hophead22. pours slightly hazy gold with creamy white head. citrus hop aroma with caramel malts. flavors are citrusy, earthy, and green hop leafy, a big presence of toasted crystal malt notes that tend to come off a bit plasticy. this was probably better a little fresher and would be better without the crystal.

22oz bottle-pours a big tight foamy off white head and copper color. Aroma is nice grapefruit and lemon rind/pine hops. Tase is resin/grapefruit rind with some bitter, some herbal, medium malt. Then some tannins and alcohol come to the front, detracting. Thanks skoutis for trade with jwc215 and me. 3.3, at cellar temp 3.6
