Commercial Description:
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

Thanks to the new Oregon guy who showed up at the JRHB club meeting. Medium orange amber, slight head. Aroma was slightly sweet malt and pine and floral accented hops. Flavor was a straight match, perhaps with a slight "green" hop note. Tasty, but I would have expected a bit more hops in the face with a wet hop ale.

From a 22oz bottle purchased locally. Aroma is full of hops, resinous citrus and pine. A clear amber with a small off white head. Flavor is hop dominated but not overpowering with more orange, lemon and pine followed by toasty malt in the background. Not overly bitter. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Very drinkable. I’d have a couple of this one. A very balanced, not over the top, fresh hop ale.

I love fresh hop ales. Much like the other fresh hop ales, this is very well balanced. There is a pretty pronounced caramel flavor, with the fesh hop flavor all around. It’s aroma is fantastic also. The hop flavor is not too bitter, but very well rounded.

Pours deep golden with a tall head that lingers. Good lacing. Mild aromas pushing caramel and citrus rind. Full nectar with soft carbonation creating an almost creamy texture. A fat malt body carries a strictly fresh and crisp hop component. Chewy malts and crunchy hops define this specimen. There a touch of malty sweetness that lingers on the tongue. An aspirin burn is also present.

on tap at papago... clear copper pour with a monster white head which deposits random spots and rings of lace as it recedes. dusty aroma full of candied orange, sweet ruby grapefruit, caramel, pine and spicy/earthy hops. the palate is dry... nearly ashy which earns bonus points in my book. flavors of caramel without the sugar, grain, citrus bitterness, faint resin and a dry spicy finish. medium body is fuller than most. creamy carbonation and bitterness make this an easy drinker...

22 oz bottle courtesy of bvc. 2008 Vintage. 266 08 0829 M stamped on label. Pour is a slightly hazed golden orange, with a one inch off-white / tan head. Quite a few carbonation bubbles work their way to the top of the glass. Patches of lacing are left behind as the head falls. Aroma of wet, husky, resin hops. Pronounced bitterness, fresh smelling. Taste is the resin hops, with a grainy malt backbone. Bitterness in the finish. Palate is medium, though thins out a lot towards the bitter finish. Certainly hop forward, but with enough malt to hold it together. Fresh and tasty brew. Thanks for sending this my way, Brandon!

22oz bottle. Dark gold pour, nice clingy white head. Very piney aroma, a little grassy and really fresh. Very smooth with a slight bitterness. Very sessionable, pretty good.

Bomber. Pours a clear medium amber with a one finger foamy white head and great lacing. Nose is mainly citrus hops and light malts. Taste is sweet caramel malt upfront with rip citrus dominating the flavor. Light grapefruit finishes it out. Medium mouth feel. Solid pale.
