Commercial Description:
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

Draft at the Frog completing a trade in person. Pours a clear copper colour with an off-white head and sticky lacing. Big sweet, fruity hops in the aroma like pink grapefruit. Very clean and light palate that blends the hops and sweet perfectly. Just a little bitterness at the finish. Super easy to drink.

On tap at Porters Pub, UCSD. Pours a clear, dark amber with a white head that lingers. Clean, sweet aroma, of pine hops and citrus, with a hint of bitterness. Taste is sharp and bitter, of hops and both preserved and ripe citrus fruits. Lingering light bitterness. Tasty and very drinkable.

22oz bottle. thanks again to andrew...pours a transparent amber brown with a thin soapy white head... aroma of sweet tropical fruit, lynchee, somewhat soapy... flavors of sweet blended fruit and not too much distinguishable hop character. really soft mouthfeel and carbonation

22oz bottle. Pours a bright orange color; off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Decent amounts of soft citrus, minerals, and oranges in the aroma; resiny, juicy, and quite pleasant hop character. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, dripping orange and mineral hoppiness; pleasant texture in the mouth; lively, chewy orange-forward bitterness with no astringency; very nice beer. Medium finish: mineral bitterness, toasty malts, and a crisp, dry ending.

22oz ’08. Perfect pour and appearance, rough golden hue with a nice head. Crisp, fruity-floral nose with some pine. Taste is very floral-sweet up front but mellows with malts to a nice mild bitter finish. pretty nicely balanced with a bit of an unusually sticky mouthfeel for this abv. More forceful flavor than most other Fresh Hops (exception of PPort’s High Tide). Quite nice, a bit fresher version of my all-time standby from Deschutes- Mirror Pond. Think I’d prefer MP ultimately though.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear amber orange with a small white head and plenty of lacing. Aroma of big hops, pine, citrus, & floral. Taste is also very hoppy, more citrus & pine. Some malt backing, with caramel, pretty sweet. Very fresh & nice. Body is medium, with some carbonation. Finish is bitter and sharp. Overall, a nice fresh hop brew.

Bottle from Kan Presents: Fresh Hops - a blind tasting. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Fresh hoppy, pine, citrus, candied and soapy aroma. Smooth light and sweet. Citrus, toffee, caramel, lemon, candied sugars, and bitter pine. Too sweet, cloying, strange and not as enjoyable as it could be. 7/3/7/3/14 = 3.4

22 oz bottle. Copper amber color with almost no head. Not a big release when the bottle was opened. Smell is sharp, malty. Mellow taste, not overly sweet or sharp. Tastes fresh, clean. I keep trying to get a specific taste or sensation to jump out, but it’s all understated and subtle. Subtle is the key word I think. Good beer.
