Commercial Description:
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

2008 Bottle - Pours lt brown with a decent head, massive lacing...aroma is all hop piney resin and light citrus, flavour is nice and bitter, I love how the fresh hop ales don’t throw in gratuitous malts to overwhelm...nice change, good strong hop brew...

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange, off white head. Aroma is subdued citrus hops, touch of malt. Flavor is hops, citrus and pine. Not overpowering, bitterness is very mild.

22oz bottle. Orange amber color with a sticky head and some sediment in the last pour. malty aroma for the most part, but a nice citric hop quality blends in the background, despite this being way beyond the age where you would expect the fresh hops to still make an impact. The flavor is a clean, fruity maltiness with a little hop balance. Almost falls on the less hoppy English side after all these months. Nice fruitiness adds character. This is definitely an elegant pale ale. Tastes quite malty and balanced with the time that has elapsed since last fall’s hop harvest, but still quite nice. I’ll definitely be getting some of this fresh when it comes out again.

Typical IPA color with nice head. Nose of sweet malt, pine and floral hops...subtle though. Hops are fresh and more floral than on the nose, with rich hop feeling in the middle of the tasting. Finishes somewhat bitter, but in a nice balanced style.

I very much enjoyed this, probably because it really hit the spot. Fresh hopy, citrus, pine, and caramel aroma. Not bitter, but very smooth and refreshing. Lots of fresh hop flavor, caramel, orange, pine and citrusvery nice!

My bottle (22oz) shared with tupalev & GregClow -- courtesy of Kevin. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a large diminishing frothy white head. Big resiny hop aroma (fruity, floral and grassy!) along with caramel malt and some bread and toffee notes. Flavour follows the aroma and though it’s not as hoppy as I thought it would be based on the aroma, it’s very drinkable and quite tasty. Medium bodied. This is just so easy to drink, I could easily put down a few bombers of this.

Bright orange, slightly hazy. Very fruity aroma, kumquat, lychee. Sweet malt, fruity and flowery hops, medium bitter finish. Refreshing and flavourful.
