Commercial Description:
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

Draft in CdA Idaho. Nothing really wrong with this, it’s just a pretty bland, run of the mill, slightly boring brew. Not that I expected anything more. Light, bready, clean taste with just a touch of hops, which do nothing but compliment the heavy barley malted backbone. Drinkability is its best quality....this is a very clean crisp brew that could compliment the right occasion, however I usually prefer something bolder.

Heavenly aroma of fresh cut pine, squeezed grapefruit, and biscuits. Expected auburn pour with a short white head that quickly turns to an oily surface. Clean taste, as if there were a mountain stream that poured APA. Pine, oranges, grapefruit fill the mouth, but are subdued by the malty, bready back. A light, refreshing beer that should be released in the summer, but has to wait until the autumn harvest.

Solid hoppy ale with a nice citrus and hop flavor. Not very strong but a decent addition.

22oz bottle. Golden amber color with a medium sized foamy white head. Soft herbal and grassy hop aroma, some lemongrass. Buttery, slight caramel malt, juicy citrus. Herbal, slightly earthen hops with lingering butter. Mouthfeel is medium light.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thick orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of alcohol, hops, pine needles, and spices. The flavor is sweet malty and dominated by hops and pine needles.

Gorgeous amber color. Floral aroma. The flavor is mellow, but a touch skunky. Pretty smooth to drink.

Wonderful round characteristics, it’s got a soft-yet-intense hoppiness you only recognize if you’ve gnawed on the fresh stuff. The finish is muted, perhaps it’s been in the bottle too long.

On draft. Notable for its sweet, ESB-y qualities, due to "wet hopping" I am told. I’ll certainly have again.
