Commercial Description:
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Slightly hazy amber golden with a small, off-white head. Fresh, lightly citrusy hop aroma. Medium body, sweetish caramel and fruit - peach in particular. A light hoppiness in the finish. Not much hop trip here. 170607

Poured a peachy amber with an ephemeral white foam and adequate lacing, Hop Trip isn’t crafted for appearances. The label tries its best to speak of flowers with machismo, but obviously doesn’t quite succeed. The nose similarly yells of sweetened ruby grapefruit and proceeds to spew orange, pineapple and peach yogurt. Hints of spruce, acacia honey and artificial cherry add to the sweet aroma, but it unfortunately lacks the proper balance and construction to bring these individually appreciable scents together. On the palate, Hop Trip further degenerates in a fizzy mess of butter on charred toast, burnt peaches, ginger and grapefruit. Finishing with a cheesy hop flavor, the aftertaste develops a respectable fruit and caramel character. Hop Trip is totally unexciting and very forgettable, not much of an excursion at all.

Large tan head with very good retention, plenty of sticky webby lacing. Hazy amber glow in the glass. Nose is soft with grainy malts and lightly spicey hops, citrusy and grassy with a bit of pineyness. Body is lightly medium, lightly oily and coating, a touch resiny. Light hop flavors up front, citrusy and a bit earthy, lightly piney, caramel malts, licorice and some light melony notes/ Lightly sweet finish with a mild hoppiness. I do beleive i sat on this one a bit too long as fresh hop brews are made to be drank very young, oops! Props to jake65 for this one, thanks bro!

A fresh bottle of this is just great stuff. Some slight grassiness on the nose from the fresh hops, but that’s forgivable, ’cause there’s also a whole lot of fresh citrus hops coming through too. The hops are really nicely balanced in the mouth with a great grapefruit flavour and sweet malty flavour present in moderation. Eminently drinkable!

Aroma dulce mezclado con lupulos, preciosa corona al principio que se deshace poco a poco, el sabor ligeramente amargo que llena toda la boca que termina con un sabor acido-metalico al final. Muy rica!

Holy cow! I might have a new favorit beer here. Pours a great copper color with a decent graham cracker color head that leaves nice lacing; clear with decent carbonation. Aroma of that great deschutes ice tea smell and carmeled ginger, honey, etc. Flavors are awesome with decent, very fresh bitterness, light citrus, a bit of pine, fairly sweet, but not cloying since it is so nicely balanced. Extremely easy drinking, extremely nicely balanced and a great example of the style. Bravo!

Thanks to lou91for this... Appears a semi-transparent orange with a small beige head that slowly fades out. Little streaks are left around the glass. Smell is of light yeastiness, mild pine, biscuity malts, light floral and spice found in there as well. Taste is of the mentioned aromas highlighted by a gentle fruitiness and light yeastiness that draws you into the hoppy goodness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, yeasty, semi-sweet, with a roasted nut and caramel hanging on during the finish.

Thanks to kenb for the trade. Pours a translucent golden amber with an average foamy off white head that left spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus, floral, big caramel malt backbone, lots of candy sweetness. Flavors of various citrus, chewy hops with a nice bitterness, nutty/caramel malt balance. Slightly thing, great fresh hop aroma.
