Commercial Description:
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

Pours copper and clear. The aroma is floral and sweet. Tastes like cascade hops with a sweet then bitter aftertaste.

BIg foamy off white beige colored head. The look is clear and copper in color. The smell is very fruity, hops, malts, some caramel, and ok. The taste is ok, malts, hops, light bitterness, and nice.

Orange-amber and clear, no head or lace to speak of. Light carbonation, plenty of flowery and grassy hops combined with a sweet malt flavour. No sourness about it, medium to light body. Pine resin finish that fades without much bitterness. Very interesting APA, not an IPA despite being heavily hopped.

Draft at Father’s Office. Poured golden amber with tiny head. Aroma was faint hops, sweet, and soapy. Taste was malty, hoppy. Medium pallet. Overall just ok.

A slightly hazy copper beer with a good sized cream colored head. Right from the aroma I’m disappointed. Something called "hop trip" should smell a lot like hops. This does not. What I get mostly is an earthy, bready malt aroma. The flavor is not much different, there is a bit of hop flavor and bitterness but this is not even hopped to the level of an american IPA. Watery mouthfeel. Thoroughly dissapointing, I keep hearing that Deschutes is an excellent brewery, but have yet to taste the evidence.

This was a delicious beer with a very fresh, citrus like, flavor to it. It has a very light body and goes down very smooth. the after taste is long and just as good as the first sip. This is one of my favorite beers so far.

On tap at Portland brewpub. Pours clear honey with a thin cream head. Faint aroma of citrus and floral hops. Very fresh taste with plenty of florals and grassiness.
