Dec 20, 2007 Pours a very nice auburn color with a thin head and lots of sediment. Aroma of toffee, sweet malt, with notes of some dried fruits and perhaps a little chocolate. Flavor is distinctly english malt with light roast, chocolate, fruit, caramel malts, and a little maple. Lots of pleasant malty flavors in this one. This one is actually pretty fruity, maybe from all of the yeast in the bottle. A light hoppy bitterness comes through as the flavor lingers for a minute. This is very drinkable! This is an enjoyable winter NW style winter brew.

Dec 14, 2007 No complaints here. Mm-mmm!! Tthis is one tasty burg . . . uh, beer! Quite a bit like a couple I had at the recent Holiday Ale Fest. Quite dark-fruity/tangy, sweet and malty; raisin-bready nose. The only weak point is a bit of wateriness in the finish. A fine addition to the holiday season lineup.

Dec 12, 2007 Pint on tap@O’Brien’s: Dark reddish brown color with a small, fading off-white head. Aroma is light with a hint of fruit. Flavor starts with some weak black coffee then some toffee and light fruit followed by a light dry bitter finish. Light bodied and watery with moderate carbonation.
