Commercial Description:
Jubelale is classified as a "Strong Ale" or an "English Olde Ale," and has ties to the traditional Celebration Ales of England. Characterized by a very large malt body and pronounced bitterness, Jubelale contains five different varieties of hops and a healthy amount of caramel. The perfect ale for surviving the long, cold nights of winter. Our tradition is having a different local artist design our Jubelale label & packaging each year. October - December - draft and bottles

Interesting, light fruity aroma with some sweetness. Ruby colored poured with small head and no lacing. Lots of sweet cherries in the flavor, lightly syrupy, with some hops to balance - slight pine and grass. Not a bad malty, winter brew.

2004 Bottle. Copper color. Spicy, slightly roasty, with a good hop bitterness present. Very solid offering, but nothing that stands out for me.

On tap. This is a solid winter beer, with a dry oak nose, but a bland taste (low spicing). It is redeemed by its hop content and dry finish. Mildly roasted.

12oz. bottle: This one pours a reddish-brown color. It was clear, with a small tan head. The head disapated rather quickly. I was suprised by the amount of hops in the nose. They were just above a fairly nice sweet, malty nose. Some roastiness to the taste, with plenty of malt and a touch of bitterness thrown in. A touch dry in the aftertaste. A really nice beer.

This one was poured a nice brown color with some yeasty floaties throughout...THis beer is very heavily malted with a lot of caramel flavors...Hops semmed to be very understated but present...Good roasted qualities and a nice warming effect...Cheers to Gromit for another good brew

Bottle, thanks to Sham. Boozy aroma with hints of grapefruits hops and some caramel maltiness. Sweeter malts in nose as beer breathes. Mostly transparent mahogany color with some floaties and a nice tan head. Finishes quite thin and watery with a heavy dose of roasted malts in the middle. Starts sweet with some caramel malts. Very malty beer, slightly thin in the end which leaves a less than spectacular finish.

pigskin brown, like a football with a bath of diesel oil, shiny. the head was a smooth field the color of mashed potatoes whipped along with the peels, and pocked like a teenager’s face who will probably elect to stay in. my nose for some reason left me in near olfactory blindness tonight; i was sniffing hard and still couldn’t get much scent. i could’ve been downwind from a tire fire and would have missed it. in attempts to sniff extra vigorously, my nasal updraft was like the moon’s gravitational pull on the ocean tides-- but still i barely got a scent. a bit of orange marmelade on a spiced cookie, or a fancy brown sugar almond breakfast cereal with orange juice splashed on instead of milk. upon tasting tho, it had some surprisingly substansial texas grapefruit bitterness along with the usual suspects of gooey baked-bean malts and a sweet puree of nuts. medium bodied with a moderate spritz of carbonation, the balanced sweetness and bitterness wag like a happy puppy’s tail. nice drink with some alcoholic umph. after santa gave rudolph two of these, the celebrated reindeer was ready to charge into any snowstorm.
