One of my favorite Winter beers. Greaty balance in the hops malts and the wintery caramel that all good winter drinks should have. Cheers!

Aug 29, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clearish, dark mahogany body with a small, bubbly, off-white head.
Smell: Spicy-scented caramel malt nose with a slight note of pine.
Taste: Sweet caramel maltiness sprinkled with spices. Drop of molasses. Floral overtones, along with a taste of pine needles, though only a mild balancing bitterness. Dry, lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Why, it’s downright tolerable! A decent, stand-up member of the winter warmer league.

Aug 15, 2008 Will totally have this again. Beautiful complex nose and flavor featuring cinnamon, mincemeat (heavily), apple and dark malt. I was very surprised and pleased.

Jul 13, 2008 Pours a lovely chocolate brown with white head and a glassfull of web-and-dot lacing. Aroma, initially very delightful, still malty and spicey as it airs out. Taste is chocolate, more thick initially and then middling. Dry taste, a bit of an old ale, but never drying. Rich and interesting. 2007 version. Thanks Dr. Jay.

Jul 13, 2008 A very impressive winter seasonal. Great taste. Only overshadowed in my mind by the Pyramid Snowcap in terms of west coast beers.
