Bottled - tasted blind. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of caramel and hops, as well as light notes of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, caramel, and malt, leading to a dry straw finish. A very special thanks goes out to my mystery friend at the Hood River Hops Fest who gave me this.

#16 Bottle [Sk8viking great American blind tasting] Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Hazy amber color. Aroma of bread, vinous, wood, vanilla, grain, alcohol, raisins. Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation and dry alcoholic texture. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Lingering toffee and mild bitter finish. 7 / 3 / 8 / 3 / 15 = 3.6

2005 Vintage Bomber shared with bikesandbeer. This has been in my fridge waiting for him for way too long and we didn’t get around to drinking it so I thought why not now. Dark orange off white head. Nice BW nose, a little sweet and perhaps a bit oxidized. Taste is sweet and overall pretty decent. Smooth and oaky, not a bad BW, not amazing but decent.

From my backlog. Many thanks for Ughsmash for this try. Nice head with decent lacing. Aroma of candied fruit and toffee. Lot’s of caramelization going deep into the finish. Nice body and mouthfeel with a bit of slickness. A good measure of red wine with just a hint of oak. Slight fusel on the backend. Vinous and light smoke character.

Absolutely delicious, pours a murky brownish amber, loads of caramel and toffee maltiness, caramelized brown sugar sweetness, light and dark fruits dates and apricots. Slightly woody with some vanilla notes, and pretty well masked alcohol. This is how I like my barleywine, true to style, with out a lrage amount of hops where they ride the line between IIPA and barleywine. This is extremely well done.
