Muddy orange colour with an off white head. Malty, caramel sweet aroma with notes of wood, alcohol and hops. malty, sweet flavor with notes of hops and wood.

Dec 4, 2008 2005 vintage at Holiday Ale Fest 08... Poured reddish with a beige head. Aroma was tart with bakers yeast and was sweet. Flavors of fruity and floral notes with hops and caramel flavors. Stung the palate a little bit with alcohol and pine-like flavors towards the finish.

Nov 27, 2008 Tasted on tap at the Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Festival on 11/15/2008. This Barleywine pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet with a touch of oak, there is a touch of funk as well. A medium bodied barleywine. The malts are fruity and sweet, with a touch of wood. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Good balance. Very smooth taste. Hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Nov 19, 2008 Draft at Bistro BA fest. Orangey brown pour, no head. Aroma is sweet malt, alcohol, some light bourbon. Flavor is the same, but it also had an above average amount of hopping to distract from the sweetness and barrel.
