Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 2, 2005 A hazy orange beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is slightly dusty, hoppy combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is dominated by caramel, with very light notes of hops on a thin body. Papsoe (11421), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 3, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, amber golden with an off-white head leaving laces. Aroma of malt and a vaguely citric touch. Medium body with fairly sweet malt and a very subdued bitterness. Very smooth mouthfeel. An accessible APA with more focus on malt rather than hops. 230307 omhper (11030), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 25, 2004 Bottled. Pale orange, hazy. Grapefruity and orangey. Light bodied, crisp and fairly dry. Clean and straightforwarrd with some crispy rye bread character. Pleasant finish with balanced bitterness. An outstandingly well balanced APA. yespr (8539), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at Break Water Brewing company. Pours clear and golden orange with a creamy and slight off-white head. Dense malty and hoppy aroma. Mild butterish and fruity flavour. Caramel malt base flavour. Vague soapy hops finish. Dry and bitter. Oakes (7047), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Dec 26, 2005 Has that classic hazy amber look that is synonymous with American Pale Ale. Nose is moderate, standard grapefruit and wood stuff. This beer has always underwhelmed me out of the bottle, whereas on tap and cask I’ve been a big fan. Flavour is moderate bitterness, orangey notes, bits of whole wheat bread malts and a litlte phenolic note that I often find when cascades begin to oxidize a bit. As I said, in bottle this is a pretty ho-hum example, going straight down the middle of the style.
