Enjoyed on tap at the Horsebrass Pub in Portland for the July Oregon Brewers Month kickoff--A deep mahogany-brown body with a minuscule wispy beige head. Nutty, wooden nose with lots of cherry candied sugar and brown sugar in the nose. Subtle, smooth and creamy. Excellent!

Feb 13, 2008 Updated: Feb 17, 2008Happy to be the first rater, of such a damn special brew. 1/1/08 with Bikesanbeer, and Deschutes was open even though we thought we it wouldn’t be open till the next day, 6th brewery of the trip. Tried side by side with 2007 Jubelale on draft. Pours dark red. Nose has a more pronounced sweet syrupy character. Taste is sweet syrupy and quite nice.
