Had this on draft at Deschutes in Portland’s Pearl Dist. Colour... ebony with a 1/4" latte coloured head. Nose... cascade hops are evident with some malt. Palate... nice hop kick up front and mid palate. Hops are more subtle towards the back palate. Moderate malt on a slightly bitter lingering finish.

On draft at the brewery 6/26/09. Pours dark brown, light tan head. Touch of coffee and pine on the nose. Hits with a bitterness up front, then mellows to allow some sweetness through, then a lingering bitter finish.

Growler sample from a traveling friend. Darkest brown/black pour with a huge tan head. Dark malt aroma with some sweet malt and citrusy hops. Roasty malt flavor up front with orange and grapefruit hop character before a roasty finish.

Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a growler. This IPA pours nearly black with dark brown around the edges. Medium foamy beige head that diminishes slowly, and stringy lacing. Floral hops aroma with notes of toasted malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character with more floral notes. Roasted malt and caramel in the background along with a bit of cocoa. The finish is dry, hoppy and roasty with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Enjoyable from start to finish.
