Nose is of hops, but less than expected. Taste is better than the nose, with hops and malt noticeable. Mouthfeel is medium bitter with lots of carbonation. A little below the good IPAs. captaincass (45), Everson, Washington, USA

This beer makes me feel that there is something unique to Oregon IPAs or Maybe it is just Deschutes? One man’s IPA is another man’s Pale Ale. I think that is the case for this beer. It pours a beautiful orange brown, not much in the nose but it the first sip is a great balance of malt and hops, the finish is a nice creamy hoppy flavor like you are drinking a hoppy beer on Nitrogen. Really great cross over IPA - Pale ale. mesperon (140), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Very mild for an ipa, tastes like an american pale, malt is more dominant on palate than hops. ericandersnavy (1129), crossroads, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Bottle. Pours blood-orange red, with a medium white head, nice lacing. Nose is citrus/grapefruit hops, malt, floral. Palate is creamy, almost minerally, with very nice bubble structure/carbonation. Surprising candy and white pepper finish. A bit of vegetal character in the mid-palate, though it doesn’t show until the beer has warmed up a bit. Good, solid, middle-of-the-road IPA. Really coming to like this brewery.
