| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Bottle: Pours a transparent copper amber with a frothy, well-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh, grassy piny hops and sweet toasty pale malt. Starts with good fullness and sweet toasty pale maltiness well-balanced with a citrusy herbal hop character before a crisp, bittersweet finish. A pretty well-balanced, and enjoyable IPA. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2009 22oz bomber from Hagen. Pours a clear copper with a large head. Leaves a dense spider lacing on the glass. Nose is grapefruit and pine. Taste is caramel, toffee, spicy hops with a bit of a tangerine hop finish. Also detected a bit of tea flavor..ie crystal malts. Is a tad bit thin. Needs more hops, but easy to drink.
Not bad. Aubrey (2774), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2009 Nice orangey hue with a sudsy head. Mouthfeel is lightish, yet slightly chewy with a healthy carbonation. Toasty malts. Notes of bread crust, nuts, toffee, and a slight hint of sweet caramel. Hops are tame yet balancing. Flowers, grass and bitter orange. Nice high-alcohol session beer. BückDich (4847), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2009 Bottle: Pours a crimson bronze color with a nice puffy off-white head. The nose is floral with some citrus and light pine, the caramel is there too, so it’s not a solo in the aroma department. The flavor is balanced with a nice resinous hop note and a sweet full-bodied caramel maltiness. The finish is chewy and it has a nice rounded crisp mouthfeel. Nice IPA with all the right qualities without being too overzealous. mrhoppy (210), Santa Clara, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 15, 2009 I heard a lot about this beer, how great it was. Good, yes. Great, no. Beautiful color. Small Hoppy nose that is there but it doesn’t floor you. To me it’s not an IPA. It’s a hopped up pale. Smooth and flavorful. Easy drinkin’. If they amped this one up just a little more it would be killer. So close to perfect. Watery. Thin body. No punch. A hop teaser. jimbowood (953), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 15, 2009 Draft at the PDX pub. Malty. Reddish amber. Too balanced for an IPA, but good nonetheless. savnac (427), Palmer, Alaska, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2009 22 oz bottle. Amber red with a long lasting fluffy off white head. Aroma is citrus and piney resinous hops with a bready malt underscore. Sweet malt base with a mild bitterness. Medium body with active carbonation and a clean smooth finish. Like the description says all of the hops are in the flavor and aroma and not much in the overall bitterness.
