taste is crisp, caramel, citrus, pine, and roasted nuts, ends nicely bitter.

Jun 2, 2009 Another tasty brew by Deschutes...vibrant dark amber hue with a significant amount of lacing. Aroma is bright citrus hops, grapefruit, pine, and just enough sweetness to not burn the nostrils. Flavor is balanced with a nice bitterness that sticks around a bit. Medium mouthfeel...yum.

Jun 2, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours a dark golden with a large creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is subdued sweet and piney hops - what’s there is nice.
The flavor is sweet fruits and caramel malts with a lightly spiced hop finish with medium bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied and pretty watery which washes out the flavors.
Overall, an OK IPA. It’s pretty subdued though.

Jun 1, 2009 Bottle. Sorry cannot get into this beer. It is not bad but I do not see the point of removing the bitterness. It i indeed the case that the beer has the aroma of a nice IPA with mainly resin and pin notes, less fruit.
However the flavors are a letdown. One could call it smooth and clean I call it thin and watery. Something is definitely lacking and that is a solid hop profile. mainly malts and some hops in the finish that clash with a too thin body

May 31, 2009 Bottle; poured a reddish amber color with a very small off white head. Aroma was very much a good representation of a Pacific NW beer, reminding me of my recent trip there. Aroma of flowers, fruit and citrus. A very well balanced and quite tasty beer for the style. Not overly hoppy in terms of bitterness, but a good amount of nice floral and citrus hop flavor. Caramel malt provides a nice backbone. Could drink alot of this one.
