Commercial Description:
Unconventional. Uncompromising. A Deschutes original. This IPA style beer utilizes hops in a way never attempted by our brewers, evident in both aroma and flavor. The Cascade and Centennial hops are balanced by 2 types of crystal malts as well as American pale malt and German pilsner malt. The wind beneath your wings, perhaps… IBU’s: 63

22oz bottle. Copper with a lasting off-white head. Lemon zest, grapefruit, green dankness, and light pine aroma. The flavor has light caramel, orange, grapefruit and plant flavors. Finishes medium bitter with some candied citrus and a drying feel. medium bodied with higher carbonation. A nice IPA. I like the hop flavor, though the mouthfeel holds it back a little.

Fresh pine, Rasiney, Citrusy, granola nose with small hints of malt showing through. The appearance is a redish burnt orange hue. The flavor and palate is quite balanced so much so that im having a hard time discerning the different flavors coming through but still the typical pine and raisny tangerine grapefruit resins with a solid malt backbone following through that I expect in any decent IPA of this region. Overall a properly hopped and malted IPA that leaves me looking for the next.

Pours amber with a white head. Smells of grapefruit, pineapple, resiny. Tastes of citrus, resin, some caramel, earthy and bitter on the finish.

Pours clear orangeish color with off white head. Grapefruit aroma. Bitter hop flavor, citrus and pine, with some sweet malts to balance it out. Medium body with lively carbonation.

Draught > Gingerman. This is an IPA? Wow, could’ve fooled me. I thought it was an amber. Now I gotta hammer it for not tasting anything like an IPA. Just way to malty.

Bottle. Dark amber with a thick rich lasting head. Rich delicious citrus hop aroma. Thick body. Easy drinking. Nice balance. Steady tasty citrus and toffee malt. Nice sweetness and a citrus burst in the finish. Aftertaste is a moderate hop level that slowly fades down. 7%? Damn!

22 ounce bomber drank at a fire pit right off the coast in Fort Bragg Ca. Nice bitter sweet taste with smooth hop and spice flavor. Pretty basic for Deschutes, but not to bad overall.
