Bottle shared by alraomon. Thanks Sean! Pure black pour with medium head. Oak and hops come through immediately on the aroma with notes of grain, chocolate and anise. Taste is very similar. Almost motor oil thick.

If the last rating wasn’t 1500 by one site’s count, this serves quite well as THE one... Bottle, courtesy Slob at a long vertical and horizontal run of excellent imperial stouts @ statelineliquors.com. The pour was typical for the style, although the head could have been more grand. The aroma was nice, soft, gentle cocoa, touch of wood chips with warmer temperatures. The flavor was cocoa, choco-coca, some dark fruits (no coffee at all), touch of molasses, wood chips, maybe some raisins, but certainly no bourbon or other strong alcohol flavors. Finishes with some hops to keep it from running away malt happy. The mouthfeel was smooth, far from sticky, fluffy full, yet not thick/heavy and full. A very nice imperial stout, second against only AS Speedway, beating out Stone RIS (03-06), 3F DL (06), RogueIS (01, 03, and 04), and NC Old Rasp Millenium. Thanks, Bert!

Pours with a black body topped by a medium thick, light brown head wtih some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and full of roasty coffee notes with a little malt showing through. The flavor is slightly sweet yet bitter with notes of licorice and roasted coffee, as well as, light chocolate notes. Full bodied, dry and a touch warming.

all the chocolate and coffee of some of the other better stouts of Noogfest, but more hops than many of the others.

Bottle courtesy of Bchung52077: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a huge dark brown color foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of vanilla, light smoke and huge black chocolate notes is pretty intense but well balance as well. Taste is a sublime mix between some black chocolate, some light smoke, molasses, some oak and bourbon. This is a very well balance mix with no flavour taking over and completely overshadowing the rest of the flavours. Body is full with engine oil consistency but with a creamy texture as well and good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not being a big fan of imperial stout usually I must admit that I was really impressed by the craftsmanship of this one.
