Bottle. Hazy orange color with a strong floral aroma and a hint of malt in the background. The The bitter hops are up front and then a subtle maltiness finishes it with a tab bit of lingering bitterness. It is refreshing and I can imagine it doing the thirst quenching in the summer.

Bottle. Lager like aroma. Some hops. Some good citrus in the flavor, light hops. What’s the difference between a lager and a bitter - the fact that it’s seasonal. Good for a lager, if they’d called it that I would’ve rated it better.

Poured a light golden color with a nice flakey white head. Aroma of hops and citris. Very nice ale. Not overdone on the hops while finishing bitter and smooth. Nice balance overall. Par for the course for Deschutes. Too bad it’s seasonal.

12 oz bottle: Appears as a brass colored beer with sediment floating throughout the liquid as a gentle layer of foam sits peacefully on top. The nose is mild with no real personality to distinguish it from the next ESB but hey they can’t all be great. Flavor is boring with only small notice of honey and earthy hops.

Had this beer on 8/11/2004. Aroma is a caramel malt scent. Color is bright clear gold with light carbonation and thin head. Taste is bold and bitter. Starting with a light/medium body that goes down with a sharp feel. Finish comes on with a bold full flavor that is a bit of a surprise. It starts with a sweet malt flavor that is backed by a big bold bitterness and nice hop flavor.
