Bottle (apparently very fresh). Pours with a smallish white head over a clear golden body. Aroma is malty and bready (reminds me of walking into Stone’s brewery), with a decently nice hop presence in the back ground with mainly grass and mango aromas. Honey and biscuit as well. Taste is mango, herbal and grassy hops up front, followed by honey biscuit and bready aftertaste with notes of straw. Exceptionally nice hop profile and presence for a bitter. Solid sweetness as well. Light bubbles, dry. Excellent summer beer. Very good, fresh sample, I like it!

On cask at the brewery 6/26/09. Hazzy yellow with a bubbly head that fades fast. Aroma dominated by honey and vanilla. Very light with some sweetness and only a touch of bitterness on the finish.

From a 12oz bottle comes a beautiful light golden amber brew with a frothy thick white head. The aroma is of vanilla, hops, and brown sugar. It goes down lightly sweet medium-bodied with medium carbonation and a very pleasant mouth feel. There is a light satisfying bitterness that hovers around the edges and ushers in the hops, smooth. I only wish the floral notes had lingered on longer. The mild bitterness finishes off a most satisfying beer. Cheers to these fine beer makers!

Nice mainstream standard summer ale with a touch of honey character. Did I mention the honey character? Yeah. Honey character.

Pours a golden straw with a head that quickly dissipates. Aromas of spicy and citrus hops, yeast and a hint of caramel. Good flavor for summer, with a citrus taste, complemented by caramel, fading out into a lingering spicy bitter taste.

smells watery and malty, very sweet aroma. very pale, to the point i don’t think it looks very appetizing, and looks a little fizzy. taste has a strong initial hop flavor that wears off quickly and degenerates into a strange, watery taste that is reminiscent of yeasty bread. dries out my mouth a little, and is pretty sudsy. There are better bitters out there and I’m a little disappointed in Deschutes with this one.
