Commercial Description:
This is the winning entry from our 2008 ’Rivalery’ Homebrew Competition(TM)...a Cream Ale with a recipe designed by local homebrewer, John Chubick. Cream Ales are mild, pale and light-bodied ales using warm fermentation and cold lagering. Hop bitterness, flavor and aroma are low. These beers are crisp and refreshing with the pale malt character dominating and with some perception of fruity esters. Alcohol by Weight (Volume): 4.3% (5.5%) Bitterness (IBU): 17 Color SRM (EBC): 7 (14)

On tap at the brewpub: This one just didn’t sit well with me. Looked fine, a hazy pale straw/gold body with a creamy head and lots of lace. The aroma was a generic pale malt, somewhat soured, and candy corn. The latter was replaced by creamed corn in the flavor and an off-sourness in the finish. The solid carbonation made it somewhat more palatable, but in the end I never took to this drink.<br /><br />Destihl Restaurant & Brew Works, Normal, IL
