This beer is very palatable. Dark beers are my favorite and this variety is no exception.

This one came in my beer of the month club labeled as Paradise Porter. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large brown head that lingered. The aroma was a lovely mix of strong sweet cocoa, caramel, malted milk, light fruity hops and moderate floral hops. Almost perfect on the nose. The flavor was dryish, bitter and toasty with sharp floral hops, dry cocoa and a touch of marshmallow. The finish was medium length dry toasty cocoa, roasty malts and floral hops. Well done.

Chocolaty aroma with a touch of coffee Dark color, with a thicker taste, but still sort of a light complexion on the palate. The aftertaste reminds me of chocolate pudding! Not a heavy porter, so it could be drunk year round. Good for a party.

Formerly known as Party Porter, beautiful dark brown/black color with a brown head. Coffee, cocoa, semi-sweet, left a nice pattern on the glass. Rich, thick palate. Delicious. Nice tweaks in recent batches.

Aroma - roasted malt, hint of sweetness; Appearance - black, opaque, thick fluffy head, laces well; Taste - slightly sweet malt front, robust back, dry roasted finish; Palate - some crispness, good body; Overall - well rounded, easy drinking, very nice.

(Bottles July/2009) (Labeled Paradise Porter) Dark brown to light black in color. Thick creamy tan head, that leaves a nice lacing on the glass. The nose is cola like with an earthy hop undertone. Fresh tasting and very drinkable. The palate is full of coffee and chocolate without being sweet. One of the better Porters that I have had in a while.

Bottle courtesy of screach. Pours a clear dark brown color with thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, roast, ripe dark fruit, chocolate, anise, and some hints of caramel. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of roast, chocolate, ripe dark fruit, brown sugar, molasses, and hints of toffee and caramel. Generally medium body with a pleasing malty finish. Nice porter, a lot better than the ratings it receives.

I could have sworn this was called “Paradise Porter,” but that is not an option. Anyhow, received in trade from ericandersnavy, AND it is a new state! Thanks. Deep brown head with an easy to froth head. The roasty aroma is noticeable from across the room and is quite pleasant. It has a nice sweetness with just a hint of sharp on the nose. The usual molasses applies as well. Nothing wrong at all with the flavor but it is not as good as the aroma would suggest. The flavor is roasted and perhaps a bit smokey. There is also some sharp roast and burnt caramel sweetness. Medium body with a semi-ashy finish. All and all pretty good.
