(Bottles July/2009) (Labeled Paradise Porter) Dark brown to light black in color. Thick creamy tan head, that leaves a nice lacing on the glass. The nose is cola like with an earthy hop undertone. Fresh tasting and very drinkable. The palate is full of coffee and chocolate without being sweet. One of the better Porters that I have had in a while.

Bottle shared by Bockyhorsey and the Phoenix Black Friday Tasty – thanks Bill! Pours dark reddish brown with a half finger tan head. The nose is coffee, charred barley and malt. The taste is much the same with some additional coffee added in the finish. Medium mouthfeel. Decent brew.

bottle shared by bockyhorsey on 11/27/2009. clear burgundy brown color capped by a tan head. it smells of roasted malty goodness, wood, cream, chocolate and some vanilla... very porter-like. nothing more. the flavor shares all of those components and adds on some toasted nuttiness and some roasty bitterness on the finish. it is malty but quite dry throughout. the body is light while the texture is crisp. this is easy to drink without thinking a whole bunch about it... safe. 6/3/6/3/13/3.1

Nose is earthy, burnt sugars, molasses, & a hint of citrus. Appearance is very dark, almost black with beautiful head & lacing. Intriguing taste is slightly achrid, bitter, fairly hop forward for the style, yet dry and malty. Interesting flavors could be held together better. Nice drinkability, to style. Overall I was surprised with the depth of this brew, yet disappointed that it didn’t hold together better. Fairly complex flavors but overly bitter and dry lacking a malty sweet backbone for balance. Good, but could have been great. I’ll drink again.

Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Sweetness hits the nose hard, more towards the finish a roasty nut appears. Black body with beige head. Sweet malt flavor thoughout beer with some roast in background mild that is. Too sweet for my palate I would have to say. Thanks Eric.

Bottle: Pours dark brown, near black. The nose is very malty with a rich nutty and roasty character. Full roasty malty flavor with a smooth balance and tons of nutty and roasty character. Finishes smooth and balanced. Very tasty. Was expecting less.

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Pours nearly opaque brown with a three-finger tan head. Aromas of coffee and darker chocolate. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is must dark roast malt with chocolate. Some coffee. Finishes rather dryish. Mildly bitter. Good stuff.
