Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Nov 6, 2009 Bottle courtesy of ericandernavy. Decent citrus ipa aroma. Copper body with off white head. Flavor is of what you would expect some citrus but at times seemed little watered down. Good on the palate, just wish flavor was like aroma. Thanks eric. inkubus27 (237), Highland, Indiana, USA Oct 29, 2009 This reminds me a lot of Sierra Nevada Torpedo... the only thing missing is the aroma... Nice malty body, with a really well balanced hop profile... mostly american c hops here. Pretty smooth stuff, with a clean palate bsp77 (191), Minnesota, USA Oct 29, 2009 Poured from bottle into Nonic Imperial Pint.
Cloudy dark amber-orange with bubbly off-white head and some nice lacing.
Aroma of very slight citrus and sweet toasted malt. Very hard to detect much here.
Semi-sweet toasted malts grapple with citrus hop bitterness. Unfortunately the sweetness wins until the aftertaste when some spicy bitterness is evident. I really don’t like sweet IPAs.
Moderate carbonation, medium body. Does not have the kind of dry finish I expect from an IPA.
While not really bad, I am not a fan of sweet IPAs.
deyholla (506), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Oct 28, 2009 Bottle from a beer of the month pack. Pours rust with a creamy golden head. Aroma has light hop notes bring out a combination of a flora and a citrus (orange) notes. Flavor has three hop flavors, starts with floral hops, transfers to more citrus hops, and finishes with an earthy note. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 12, 2009 Thanks to Ian for hooking me up with Arkansas! Pours a light amber with a thick off white head. Citrus hop aroma. Fairly balanced hop taste with a good malt base. Just ok. Gooney (53), Oregon, USA Oct 9, 2009 Beer of the Month Club - Unpleasant aroma. Even more unpleasant aftertaste. It’s kind of like getting acupuncture on your tongue using pepper sticks. Call me an Oregon beer snob, but it’s about what I expected. peter (385), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 5, 2009 Thanks Cavie!
Honey yellow pour. Nose is sweet with a little citrus and a pound of butter substitute. Flavor is stale hops, a bit peppery and sap. Thin in the mouth and astringent on the finish. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Oct 3, 2009 August BOTM. Clear orange pour. Some sweet hops on the nose but also a bit tart. Taste is a little stale. Not sure how old the bottle is. Some hops but flavor edges out quickly. Finish is a light dry but taps the back of the throat.
