Commercial Description:
In celebration of the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library, Diamond Bear Brewing Company introduced its seasonal beer, Presidential IPA. This in beer terms is a "big beer" with lots of flavor. This India Pale Ale has a rich copper color and full body which delivers exceptional body, balanced by a high hop rate. This beer has great aroma with generous amounts of cascade hops to stimulate all of the senses. This is truly a beer fit for a head of state!

As of late April 09, the recipe has changed. The new brewmeister has added his touch, and the results are wonderful. Bottle pours a light orange copper color, cloudy, nice white top that leaves a nice pattern on the glass. It is very hoppy, yet the flavor comes though as the citrusy, floral hop flavor accentuates the sweet caramel taste. It tastes like an imperial. The long aftertaste is oily pine. The one I drank was out of the first keg tapped. Should be to the retail outlets soon.

Excellent IPA. Full flavor, full bodied and enjoyable to drink. Nice subtle citrus notes and complexity that make this a really well done IPA. I also get a buttery flavor that was quite different than other IPAs. Drank it straight out of the bottle and enjoyed it.

(Bottle courtesy of Headbanger). Aroma is malty with a little yeast and just a hint of hops. Color is a hazy orange gold with good carbonation and thin head. Taste is bold and hoppy. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a rich feel. Finish comes in malty and sweet with a bread like yeast flavor then a mild citrus and an even bitterness. After taste is hop flavor with the sweet building up a little before leaving you with a bitterness on the back of your tongue. This is a very good IPA, its bold and rich without overdoing it.

(growler from the brewery) lovely deep copper. Nice hops aroma. Only a small head. Solid malt body (even a bit biscuit-y as it warmed up) with a nice pine/citrus hops finish. Nice holiday IPA, a la S-N Celebration.

When the growler was being filled at the brewery I could instantly smell the hops. Very nice. Reminds me a lot of SN Celebration (as koweltje mentioned), and is every bit as good. Actually I like it more. Slight alcohol burn. Very, very good.

poured a nice copper hue with a nice frothy white head that had good retention. Aroma had a pleasant pine note mix with a typical citrus note too it. There was a subtle almost grainy note to the aroma it was slightly offsetting but not significantly Flavor had a good hop profile and was fairly balanced out with sweet malt notes. Finish was full as was the palate.

Music City Brewer’s Fest 2008. Clear medium amber. Hop aroma supported by light malt. Lightly bitter with a smooth dryness.

This beer came in my beer of the month club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright red-orange-amber color with a huge orange-tan head. The aroma was moderately strong grapefruit and pine. The flavor was strong with sweet grapefruit, orange and pine with a light floral hop presence and light nutty malts with a hint of cocoa. The finish was long, sweet and fruity. The body was fairly thick and full. Well done.
