Commercial Description:
In celebration of the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library, Diamond Bear Brewing Company introduced its seasonal beer, Presidential IPA. This in beer terms is a "big beer" with lots of flavor. This India Pale Ale has a rich copper color and full body which delivers exceptional body, balanced by a high hop rate. This beer has great aroma with generous amounts of cascade hops to stimulate all of the senses. This is truly a beer fit for a head of state!

Clear perfect amber color with a small capping of smooth lightly tarnished yellowed foam. Big blobs of lace stick close to the top of the liquid. Aroma is mostly grassy and tingey with grains and a light perfume of cardboard and butter ascents. Taste is more or less again quite grassy with a tender piney sided bite and pithy grapefruit/lemon nudge rounding off some toasted portions. Trace cardboard fluff and leafy hopped dryness float about the finish as it renders leftovers of pine and pithy citrus. Body is fairly firm with a lessened medium girth. Shallow finish, kinda where it loses its way is the finish as its just kinda there, but impressionable enough to keep some interest in a fluffy textured hopped up leafyness, grassy, citrusy mildness. A pretty standard IPA that’s abit above an average for the most part. Won’t be a problem drinkin’ more.

On tap and in bottle. Good IPA. Pours a clear orange with a light brown head that leaves great lacing and has good retention. Aroma is of citrus hops (Centennial and Williamete as far as I could tell). Taste is nice and hoppy, with a decent amount of balance. Water like mouthfeel, good levels of carbonation. I belive the brewer said after testing this was only 5.8%.

Thanks to ckeegan04 for this one. My bottle was poured into a standard pint glass .Nice hazy amber body brew toped of with a good two fingers worth of off white head that turned to a nice big thick clumps of lace. Aromas of pine and grapefruit filled my nose a real nice hop presence Flavors of hops come up first then are tamed by the malts the mouthfeel is medium and crisp in the carbonation department. Drinkability is great on this brew was a great beer to sit back and relax with.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating foamy light tan head and amber color. Aroma is medium malt/caramel/toffee, pine/resin. Taste is medium malt/caramel/toffee, pine/resin/herbal hops. Not quite my taste. Became less enjoyable as I progressed. Thanks Russ Powell. Reading the previous 2 raters comments, and knowing them to be good Americans, I must guess that I had a bottle with some issues. Rating stands, but would like to rerate.

Clean orange pour with off white head and lace. Sweet malt and decent hops aroma. Semi sweet maltiness with a good finishing bitter. Good carbonation and mouthfeel. A better than average IPA.

Music City Brewer’s Fest 2008. Clear medium amber. Hop aroma supported by light malt. Lightly bitter with a smooth dryness.
