Draft at the Rivertown. Dark mahogany with thin but moussy tannish head and decent lace. Nice roasty bread nose. Body’s on the light side of medium. Almost goes a bit watery, but not in a bothersome way. Very soft carb. Rich roasty caramel and brown bread mid-palate, but the absolutely predominant flavor, interestingly enough, is chocolate. Nice little coffee note on the finish. I’ve had this stuff before and it never tasted this good--not sure if DK is running a new guy at the kettle (their head brewer as of yesterday was a guy named Brian, not sure how long he’s been there). Or maybe I just had a hatred of browns going on before that clouded my palate. But this was lovely.

Nitro, Barking Dog, Seattle. I don’t know where to get his anymore, but when I could get it I would go out of my way to get a pint. Great pour, great taste and very enjoyable. Great session beer. You could sit and have a few and not feel like you had to call a cab or give your keys to somebody to get home.

Dark amber-brown cola color with thinnish head. Some roast malt aroma wafts off. Solid brown flavor, quite enjoyable, medium roast malt with some roughness. Well-balanced. No off flavors. Emphasis on the malt with little detectable hopping.

Served on nitro at Fred’s. Creamy brown in color with a medium creamy brown head. Didn’t pick up much aroma. A bit of sweetness. This brown is very smooth and enjoyable..easy on the hops and heavy on the malt, but it is not too sweet though. I like this better than their typical Brown.
