Commercial Description:
Diamond Knot Hefe-Weizen is golden in color with a cloudy appearance, which is what makes this style so easily recognized. Our Hefe-Weizen, which is more of a Bavarian style beer, is very lightly hopped to let it's "True-to-Style" flavors come from the yeast and malts. Diamond Knot Hefe-Weizen features: 2 Row Pale malt Wheat Galena Hops for bittering Hallertauer Hops for finish Weihenstephan Yeast.

Cloudy banana haze appearance that bespeaks a German Hefe. Unbalanced sour banana phenolics in aroma and flavor. Unripe banana and some chemicaliness detracts mightily from drinkability. Decent wheat backbone.

10/4/08 On draught at the Mukilteo brewpub. Aroma is clovey with distinct sulphur and banana character. Appearance is hazy yellow with a fluffy thick white head. Flavor is bready sour with a light acidity that is somewhat distracting. Mouthfeel is moderate bodied with a spritzy carb texture. Overall, quite good and very easy drinking, but feels a little thin and excess sulphur is not offensive but disconcerning.

Aroma of light wheat, clove, and some soft banana. The pour looks like the picture; it was an amazing milky looking color, almost hard to believe it looked like that really. Flavors initially of wheat, then clove, banana, and some nice citrus/lemon in the finish. Creamy and smooth. A nice hefe for sure.

On draught at the brewpub in Mukilteo, Washington. Pours a very cloudy straw brew with a creamy off-white head that has some nice retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of multi-grain malt, banana esters, cloves, some flowery hops and a touch of pineapple. Taste is medium bodied, very lightly carbonated with flavors of yeast, banana, cloves a touch of cotton candy and some white pepper. Finish has a mild spicy and semi-sweet aftertaste of white pepper, banana and yeast. Quite impressing.

draft @ brewery - pale yellow and very hazy; aromas of flowers, grain and stale malts; lemon, grain in the flavors with a dry finish; very drinkable and yeasty; not quite the liquid peanut butter type appearance shown in the photo...haha
