| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Bomber served in a tulip. Bottle brown in color with a decent light tan head. Minimal lacing. There are some spices and mild maltiness on the nose. Medium body. Bitter and sticky hop and oily flavor. Long finish. Good balance throughout and the alcohol is well hidden. This one is 8.5 ABV. fakepurseninja (785), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Spiced sugar nose with a little bit of a stewed ficus leaf note. Crystal maroon body with thin, quick dissipating head. Brown sugar accented bready caramel malt body with light spice and some subdued citrus. Resinous pine character on the finish with some veggie character. The sweetness seems a little like an unsweetened molasses cookie that was infused with wheat stalk chaff and hay. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 20, 2009 How spiced is this that it’s in the spice category? Not a whole lot on the nose, some nutmeg and cinnamon I guess. Clear toffee, small tan head. I get a blast of rubbing alcohol (bottle says 8.5% btw) to just behind the point of offensive. Once acclimated, a nice blend of cinnamon graham cracker and orange peel. Light bodied and wrapped in enough of an oily white heat to prevent me from finishing the bottle. trevor211 (518), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 20, 2009 Not bad at all. Pours deep brown with a light tan head. Very well balanced - this is much like a barleywine. Tons of ingredients, without straying too far into cloying malts or acerbic hops. It’s a palate bomb they managed to reel in from the edge. Some spices in there as well (root beer is right), and a very dry finish. Nice one. snakeoilpete (324), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 26, 2009 On tap at Naked City. Dark brown with a rich, creamy head. Malty aroma with a great taste of oatmeal cookies, sweet with a touch of bitterness, both of which lasted into a long finish. Mouthfeel seemed a little thin for the rich, malty taste, though. A nice beer- more interesting than I was expecting. AmEricanbrew (1880), Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Draft at DK. Hazy brown with a tight tan head. Nice roasty caramel aroma. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Good creamed caramel and cooked toffee sweet flavors ala caramel custard. Has a nice rootbeer spicy twang to finish.
