Hops in the nose, but there’s some other quality.....call it plasitc....I’m not sure but that sounds reasonable. Flavor is ok but that plasitcity never exits the building. This is one that I won’t be buying again.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Bottle:   Vibrant amber, moderate white foamy head, decent lacing, soft carbonation.   Musty hoppy nose, a little citrus, some basement.   Not as bright as I remembered.   Hoppy, and not as biting as I remember.
Fairly smooth, but just after having the latest Hales Aftermath and its juicy hoppy malt goodness, this seems more like a 1½ IPA.   Noticing some alcohol on the nose as it warms.   Could use a bit more malt.   Bit IPA,
bitterness, citrus rind, with some malt... but just not heavy as I remember.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Good, easy to drink... but just not as hardcore as I found it years ago.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Bomber from secret santa. Pours hazy dark brownish copper with 2-finger soapy head. Aroma of sweet malt, grassy and earthy hops, citrus, and some caramel. Flavor is a lot like the regular IPA with a little bit more hop bitterness and much more sweet malt. Still some light citrus and caramel in there as well. Body is good and finishes with decent bitterness. I wonder if these bottles are a little past their prime. I liked this better than the IPA though. cmonster (113), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Bomber served in a tulip. Pours bronze with a slight haze and a large off-white head. Sticky lacing. Classic IPA qualities. Aroma is spruce, bread, caramel, and citrus. Not overly aromatic. Medium body, an oily/creamy texture, and flat carbonation. Primarily bitter citrus in flavor with grapefruit dominating the secondary orange. Bitterness, sweet malt, and a little metallic on the long, long finish. I like their standard IPA better. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy amber with a foamy off-white head. Nice aromas of floral and fruit. Medium body with foamy/frothy carbonation. Flavor is slightly coarse caramel with a good dose of bitter - seems to be floral, citrus and touch of pine. There are sweet bursts off and on. Finishes caramel and diminished bitter. Dang good ale. pantanap (1363), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 4, 2009 22oz bottle from megamaltman.... pours a semi-transparent medium amber brown with a fluffy white head...aroma of sweet, herbal, and grassy hops with a citrus feel to it much like that of the ipa.... flavors were very similar to that of the ipa albeit with a bit more sweetness through the middle and a little more bitterness in the finish which makes this one stand above it’s younger sibling. still pretty grassy and earthy but with a slightly more intense hop feel to it.
