A plethora of creamy citrus fruit laced together by caramel malt sweetness...Textbook texture transmitting indelible, yet easily edible resinous hop bitterness...A classy compendium of coniferous equilibrium...

Bottle... RBSG 2005... Lightly hazy, deep golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Pine and grapefruit nose. Bitter flavor of grapefruit and light toffee. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Medium bitter, citrusy, grassy finish.

RBSG 2005. Golden yellow, with a small white head. Big hoppy aroma with vague but strong citrus and muted resin. Flavour is an explosion of grapefruit which I love but also pulls in a bit too much of the less pleasant aspects, like drinking grapefruit juice. Not even close to balanced. Wow. Average palate. Need to try this one again.

2005 RBSG Montreal Friday Night Tasting. Golden yellow colour with a frothy white head. Fresh, green, piny, citrus, and somewhat sweaty aroma. Light bready and caramel malts with a piny, pithy, grapefruit, and citrusy bitter finish. Medium bodied, juicy. Very good IPA.

On tap. Pours a good copperish color. Smells of hops, hops, and more hops. Taste full bodied. Malt and hops are both evident making this a well rounded IPA.

On tap at the brewery. Solid amber coloring with a diminishing white head. This has the best hop character and mouthfeel of any regular IPA I’ve ever had - very fruity and extremely bitter that makes for a great finish. The weather here sucks, but this made my trip to the Seattle area totally worth it.
