| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2009 On tap at Diamond Knot, June 2008. Attractive, somewhat cloudy golden with a white, frothy head. Pleasant grapefruit/cascade hop nose of moderate intensity. Flavor is heavy on the side of grapefruit, citrus/orange with a simple, pale malt base. Ample yet smooth bitterness level. Not much pine hop character. Medium to slightly light bodied with moderate carbonation. Very drinkable. I had very high hopes for this one and came away slightly disppointed but overall, still a very good IPA. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Updated: Nov 25, 2009bottle through trade, thanks scrizzz. poured a light amber in color with a one finger white head that pulled back to a ring in the glass. aroma has sweet citrus, pink grapefruit, pines, mild malt, light honey, and some perfume flowers. this is very inviting and the hops mix wonderfully with the light alcohol at the end. medium mouth feel that does not wow me and the carbonation is on the lighter side. bitterness picks up on the front of the flavors, resiny pine, citrus peels, light sweetness, and a decent smack of alcohol. the bitterness comes on fairly strong and although it is appealing it makes it hard to get all the sweet citrus that is in here. very tasty overall and comes off as a bigger beer than i had expected.
