Attractive, somewhat cloudy golden with a white, frothy head. Pleasant grapefruit/cascade hop nose of moderate intensity. Flavor is heavy on the side of grapefruit, citrus/orange with a simple, pale malt base. Ample yet smooth bitterness level. Not much pine hop character. Medium to slightly light bodied with moderate carbonation. Very drinkable. I had very high hopes for this one and came away slightly disppointed but overall, still a very good IPA.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2009 22 oz. bottle from Full Throttle Bottles. Damn I believe I have had too much to drink tonight, but I will give this rating a try. Nice fluffy head on somewhat of an haze orangish appearance. Not exactly a beer that carries a haze i.e. it is fairly transparent. Subtle citrus fruit aroma with a subtle malt backing. I like the fact that the malt backing is not extremely intrusive. The citrus orange juice aroma is excellent. I can’t say the aroma jumps out at me and just knocks me off my feet, but hell, this beer is still very nice. Wow, this beer is has too many malts. The caramel malts are just everywhere, which doesn’t leave much room for any of the hops. Damn, I was hoping this IPA would just floor me, but I am sad to say that it didn’t. I can’t taste some of the citrus, but again, there could always be more. 5000 (2800), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Bottle: Pale copper, real pale, fairly clear, moderate foamy white head, decent lacing. Citrus rind nose, a little astringent. Definite hops but a little stale. Not as floral or vibrant as I remembered. A little mealy, slight earthiness. Perhaps it was the Industrial that I was more fond of? Body and mouthfeel are moderate. A little metallic on the back. Hmmm... I had high hopes for this one. Feels sturdy, strong and solid, but could use some mild sweetness and more hop aspect to balance the malt astringency and citrus peel.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Bomber from Secret Santa. Pours hazy brownish copper with soapy white head. Aroma is earthy hops, citrus, caramel, and some malt. Flavor is grassy and earthy hops, caramel, and some pale malts. Light bitterness for west coast IPA. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Lots of earthy flavors. Really lacking the hop bitterness that would make this good IPA. cmonster (114), Portland, Oregon, USA

Slightly hazy orange with a very short off-white head and minimal lace. Fragrant aroma dominated by pine with orange and pineapple behind. Medium body, bitter flavor, creamy texture, and lively carbonation. Lingering, bitter finish. This is a really good IPA. bhensonb (4389), Woodland, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 4, 2009 22oz bottle by means of megamaltman... pours a semi-hazy yet somewhat transparent medium amber brown with a moderate white soapy head... aroma of some pretty grassy and earthy hops and to a lesser extent citrusy but very light .... flavors were less enticing with an emphasis on a grassy, earthy, light citric hops in addition to a little herbal tea. bitterness was somewhat lacking although some came through, albeit barely, in the finish....would love to try it on tap but for now i consider it a pass. jbye4334 (719), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
