SuzyGreenberg (1043), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 10, 2008 draft @ brewery - brown cola and big off-white head; lots of lacing per drafts at DN; not too sweet and drinks nice and smooth; a mild richness to it with some candy malts and slight sweetness; dangerously drinkable
anders37 (2753), Malmö, Sweden Sep 29, 2008 Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Sweetish malty aroma with some hints of caramel and some weak hints of hops. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor with caramel hints. Has a sweetish malty finish with some hints of caramel and hops in the aftertaste. Skyview (2933), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Sep 2, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in Mukilteo, Washington. Pours a clear dark copper amber with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a creamy white ring that has nice retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet caramel malt, some brown sugar, a touch of smoked peat and dry earth herbs. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonated with flavors of smoked caramel malt, some light roasted nuts, and very light flowery hops. Finish is semi-sweet at first and then turns to a dry roasted dark malt aftertaste that slowly disappears. Not as bitter finish as the ESB except more malt flavors. after4ever (1756), Brier, Washington, USA Mar 7, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Crystal clear deep ruddy dark amber with thin grayish head and decent lacy sheets. Nice malty sweet caramel on the nose without a doubt. Medium body with nice soft well-balanced carb. Rich caramel and light crackery toast on the mid-palate. Perfectly modulated leafy, peppery hop finish that washes into a nice resiny cling. A Reddish amber color with a nice head. This was a very good example of a Irish ale. The malts and light hops with a hint of smokiness this was a great easy to drink brew. It was earthy butt hat was what I liked about this brew. Great Beer.
