HH (165), Everett, Washington, USA Oct 23, 2002 Had at the brewpub in Centralia. This is some seriously hoppy beer!! A good over-the-top hoppy IPA. I think 1 pint of this has more hops in it than an entire case of Budmilloors. Being a hophead, I liked it. For others, this could cause hop overdose. From the beer menu at Fred’s Rivertown Alehouse ’On a hop scale of 1 - 10, this is an 11’. A fine example of an IPA that WILL ROCK YOU.
SISSIES BEWARE.. HOPHEADS PROCEDE AND ENJOY!!! (This is claimed to be 94 IBU..)
jah noth (940), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 9, 2005 This is a mighty tasty IPA! Beer pours a transparent copper color with a tight and fluffy head. Aroma has sweet notes mixed with grassy oranges. Taste abounds with hops - tingy and zesty, bitter and DRY. Lemon peel and grass with a slight orange character. An interesting thing about this beer is the aroma is sweet and the flavor is profoundly bitter - it lingers nicely on the tongue. I like this beer - poo poo to those who brand this one dimensional! Slick (1956), Minnesota, USA Dec 5, 2003 Medium amber color, small white head that lasted for a nice amount of time.Hoppy grapefruit aroma. The taste was light malt but very well done on the hops with a nice fruity taste of grapefruit and even a slight juicy fruit gum appearance. The finish is quite good being nicely hoppy with a good bitter after taste of hops and grapefruit. This was much better then i expected and one of there better brews so far of the collection i purchased.Very much worth trying if you can get it. KingPinHead (390), Des Moines, Washington, USA Oct 30, 2002 Aroma is fruity/hoppy with a touch of yeast--very inviting...The taste: impressive layered hop attack--powerful but not strident; the fruitiness discerned in the aroma re-emerges in the finish...There is enough malt presence here for a conventional ale, but I’m not sure it is enough to balance the powerful top-end of this brew! Still, flavor carries the day here...Hopheads rejoice! ratman197 (2344), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jul 12, 2006 Bottle poured a hazy copper with a small creamy and lasting off white head. Aromas of citrus, grass, light carmel and a bit of woodsy earthiness. Palate was light bodied and dry. Flavors of orange, tangerine, light carmel and grapefruit rind with a smooth lingering bitter finish.
