Commercial Description:
Deep and toasty, yet drinkable red ale. Lots of specialty grains in the mash really make this beer. Well roasted Munich malt and rich caramel malt contribute depth and richness of flavor, good body and mouthfeel, and a beautiful red color. We then add a melanoidin malt which is what gives the Irish its unique "toasty" flavor. English style hops and yeast make it a favorite with everyone.

Nice cherry color with lacing of white head. Nice malty aroma with a hint of breadt yeast. Flavor is flat and missing. Kind of thin.

Tastes nearly identical to their Pale Ale, a very good basic beer that does not seem watered down like most of the main stream beers.

Bottle. Poured deep red with thin white head. Aroma of malt and toast. Full body with malty, roasty and hoppy noats. Lekker finish with more malty notes. Good enow and light enough to be a session beer.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty caramel aroma with some weak hints of hops. Sweetish malty slightly fruity caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints.

Mild fruit aroma. Pours amber with a large light tan head that fades rather soon. Some lacings. Taste is sweet funky malt with some euro hop bitterness. Reminds me of a bolder Smithwicks Ale. Somewhat astringent on the tongue. Nice beer, higher abv than I would have guessed.

From a 12 ounce bottle poured a dark reddish hue with a very small white head. Nutty, caramel, sticky and slightly hoppy nose. Well carbonated. Very creamy and toasted. Quite Englishy. Pretty good, but not great.
