At Bailey’s Taproom, Portland. A dark brown with a thin brown beer. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of nuts, grain, caraemel, toffee, and brown sugar, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Dark brown. Inch thick head. Big roasty, chocolatey and massively hoppy nose. Smooth chocolate and grapefruit character. Nice full malty body. Robust, quality.

(draft) Creamy beige head; dark red-brown body, nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee, cream. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, roasty, light smoky. Creamy medium body.

Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts and dark chocolate notes. Starts with a touch of light caramel malty sweetness revealing some piny bittering hops before a thinner mocha finish that hides the alcohol fairly well. Otherwise, a fairly uninteresting porter.

22oz bottle. Poured a deeper brown color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate and coffee. The aromas are decent and standard for a porter although I think there is some cardboard in the background (oh, oh). Aromas of roast, chocolate then a sour and tartness that just doesn’t belong there.
