The aroma is sweet hoppy combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of caramel, and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Nice. Oakes (8115), Kowloon, Hong Kong

Taste is moderately sweet, honey, herbal. Grapefruit in the burp. Medium-full body, some resin, some stickiness. Ok, but not up to the standards of the brewer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2004 Clear shining yellow. Low carbonation manages an honest foamy and sticky white head. Field aroma, straw, hay spicy hops... Comes out peachy and orangey with grapefruity hops. Refreshing on the tongue. Mild alcohol warming. Slight grain touch. Less sharp and fresh than Rogue’s but spicier. They’re obviously of similar origins. Creamy body, smooth carbonation. Gentle bitterness, floral. I’d much rather have a light and crisp helles and am definitely not a fan of imperialised blond lager, but what fool wouldn’t welcome a rarity. hopscotch (5525), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Citrusy, earthy aroma with notes of grapefruit, sweet corn and caramel. Big, malty flavor. Decently balanced with tender hop bitterness. Toffee and honey followed by grapefruit and grassiness. Still a touch sweet as the style dictates... no boundaries crossed here. Medium to full-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Finishes mildly sweet, lightly bitter and fairly dry. A terrific pilsener! MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2004 Spicy hops evoking earthy oranges and vivacious conifers, standing firmly on a proud full malt body...Riding the fine line between stout flavors and drinkability, this imperial pilsner appeared to have a bit less oiliness in the malts than its Rogue counterpart, which helped its quenchable character a lot...If God really knocked back a few pints of this on the 6th night, I understand why he took a break on the 7th day!!... ľ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 13, 2005 Orange color and clear. Pine and bread aromas, with a strange sweet caustic flavor, very malty and sweet, with light hops and a thick, high ABV body... not balanced in my opinion, but good as an experimental beer.
