| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2009 Appearance: Pours out an inky black body with an inch of dense tan-colored foam.
Smell: Oh my! What we have here is a rather vivid chocolate-scented aroma akin to cramming your nose up to a bowl of chocolate cupcake mix. Also, there’s some good notes of roasted grains and split vanilla bean pods.
Taste: Flowing roasty, coffee-toned maltiness along with tastes of vanilla bean, unsweetened chocolate, and even dark chocolate. Moderate sweetness. Light touch of dried dark fruit. It’s got a nice spicy component akin to putting a bit of nutmeg on one’s tongue. Drying finish with a dusting of spice and final hints of cocoa and vanilla.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Fairly smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A mellow, pleasant sweet treat of a stout that’s in the same vein as Southern Tier’s Choklat, though presented with a far more subtler touch. Petrucci914 (601), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma is vanilla beans, dark chocolate, hints of bourbon. Taste is much the same but very smooth and drinkable, and not as heavy as other Stouts. I still preer Moh-ka, though! cbeers21 (589), Miami, Florida, USA

Total ice cream french vanilla and chocolate chip aromas. Earthy coffee vibes too. Long range of aromas. Body is bold yet still gentle in texture and nuanced tastes. Deep boasty chocolate flavors are mingling with sweet delicate vanilla bean and caramel touches. A very fine beer eboats (901), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Aroma is HUGELY chocolate with a big cocoa aroma that is heavenly. The more you breathe in the aroma the richer the chocolate gets. The flavor does not dissapoint, but instead follows with much more than you could ever expect. Pure rich chocolate goodness. Not candylike, not overly sweet, but instead a chocolate designed only to be quaffed in beer. The vanilla flavor comes through in the end, and the mouthfeel is so silky smooth. A purely wonderful experience that should be enjoyed by all. chicagodri (1077), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla. This beer was a lot less sweet than I thought it would be, but it was really well done. The cocoa leaves a bitter taste, but the vanilla balances it out. Good beer, will give it another try for sure. coyotehunter (557), , Michigan, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 23, 2009 This beer pours an angry dark and has a smallish medium tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, vanilla, dark fruit and a bit of smoke. It is a very pleasant aroma and I wish it was a bit more pronounced. Flavor is also chocolate and coffee dominated with vanilla. Some hops. Feel is powdery but smooth and this is a dry beer. Aftertaste is mildly bitter with cappuccino. Very nice!
