Commercial Description:
Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Draft at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. What a great surprise to find this beer in Stockholm. A murky brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate, alcohol, over ripe fruits, prunes, and honey. The flavor is sweet with notes of cocoa, wood, prunes, and coffee, leading to a dry bitter fruity and cocoa finish.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Very black. Striking cocoa aroma. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel. There’s som plums and lots of chocolate. Fairly light bodied. Well balanced and quite mild, only the cocoa really sticks out.

Bottle at home. Black coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice, cocoa powder and vanilla. Sweet and roasted flavour of dark chocolate and vanilla with notes of cocoa powder and liquorice. Roasted finish. Medium bodied. The vanilla is a bit too dominating.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 2007-09-22, 7-3-7-3-14=34
Black color. Phenolic aroma, sweet, roasted malt. Medium body strength, but round, with a unique flavor of dark chocolate. Monodimensional, good, not impressive.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 2007-09-21, 7-4-7-3-14=35
Black color. Strong aroma of medium chocolate. Sweet flavor, medium-light body, very strong chocolatey flavor (reminds me the chocolate Easter eggs), original. Good.

Creamy tan head topping black body. Aroma is perfumy/flowery, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, milkshakish (though not nearly as sweet), light coffee. Smooth and creamy full body. This beer is amazing, demonstrating the amazing powers a creative brewer possesses.
