(Rating #2565)

Part of a sampler tray at the brewery. Very smiliar to an IPA. Med/low carbonation. Kind of pine needle tasting.

Reddish amber, with a thin film of head that had decent adherence to the glass.
Peppery pine needles very assertive at first, only to be slowly replaced by a honeycomb sweet hop that was quite pleasing. By the smell, I don’t think he used spruce extract, the brewers must know a guy in the woods or something.
Not withstanding the carbonation on the mid to lower range and really solid backbone (something you don’t often see in these hybrid/fruit/herbal Beers), it tasted like the classic Québec spruce Beers I used to find in every other convenience store as a child. Not that I’ve ever been the biggest fan of those, but it’s a nice novelty Beer that’s pretty close to the Tordeuse Beer they put out last year at the Mondial.

Cloudy golden body with a medium off-white head. The conifers beer seems to be a yearly tradition at Dieu Du Ciel, usually around the time I have my shower. Conifers very apparent on the nose but more elusive in the taste. Very soft body (like drinking silk ©Rastacouere 2006). Very malty with some caramel followed by a coniferous dry finish with medium bitterness that makes you wanna have another sip right away.

Dark amber color, with a frothy beige head, soft piney nose, caramel malt, cedary aroma follows through on medium-bodied palate with a pine niddles, hint of cedary, resiny, coniferous flavors, oily note, with a caramelized malt, earthy accent, leading towards a piney bitterness finish.

Mondial de la Bière de Montréal; On Tap, Amber ale. Spicy aroma. The taste is what make this beer special. Taste of Blue Cheese, conifer, pot...wow I’m buzzing. Sooooo Goooood!!!!

12 oz sur place. Rousse légèrement voilé, moyen collet. Arome un peu sucré, soupson d’herbe fin. Goût très végétal, assé riche, peu amère.

Golden amber ale with a thick white head. Light malty and sprucey aroma. Nice crisp malt with good spruce notes and light hops in finish. rich and pleasant. Mondial 2005. 7-4-8-4-13
Golden orange ale with a thick off white head. Fresh caramelly nutty malt with tingling notes, and green pepper. In mouth, a refreshing and smooth beer, with coniferous notes, very nice. Mondial 2006. 8-4-8-4-14
