| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2006 Reddish amber, with a thin film of head that had decent adherence to the glass.
Peppery pine needles very assertive at first, only to be slowly replaced by a honeycomb sweet hop that was quite pleasing. By the smell, I don’t think he used spruce extract, the brewers must know a guy in the woods or something.
Not withstanding the carbonation on the mid to lower range and really solid backbone (something you don’t often see in these hybrid/fruit/herbal Beers), it tasted like the classic Québec spruce Beers I used to find in every other convenience store as a child. Not that I’ve ever been the biggest fan of those, but it’s a nice novelty Beer that’s pretty close to the Tordeuse Beer they put out last year at the Mondial. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Cloudy golden body with a medium off-white head. The conifers beer seems to be a yearly tradition at Dieu Du Ciel, usually around the time I have my shower. Conifers very apparent on the nose but more elusive in the taste. Very soft body (like drinking silk ©Rastacouere 2006). Very malty with some caramel followed by a coniferous dry finish with medium bitterness that makes you wanna have another sip right away. rederic (1811), montréal, Quebec, Canada
