Siroy (220), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 4, 2006 A mostly diminishing large creamy tan head tops up a clear medium amber body. Moderate lacing. No particles. No bubbles. Aroma presents caramel malt being medium biscuity while hops are very faint leafy /metallic (fuggles?)... Yeast character is light fruitiness. Also, there are evident evocations of wild-berries. Initial flavor is moderate sweet while development adds up notes of .. fruity impressions.. Finish is medium . medium body... watery texture... Soft carbonation... Overall, it’s an impressive lager! I need to get more infos about the so-called vienna style..
[Draught at the brewpub] LadySusan (462), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada Apr 3, 2006 Reddish in color with a light caramel taste this beer has short lasting after taste. You just like to have another for that nice fruity feeling. À date la meilleur de ce style, mais c’est Dieu du Ciel! rederic (1785), montréal, Quebec, Canada Mar 30, 2006 Hazy amber-orangeish hue, with a frothy beige head, caramel and crystal malts nose with a faint fruity note, toffeish hint in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with caramelized malts flavors, floral hops accent, with a delicate kind of peppery note, leading towards a nice lingering hop bittering finish. omhper (12147), Stockholm, Sweden Nov 22, 2004 Updated: Dec 28, 2004Sampled draught at the brewpub.
Amber colour. Buttery and boldly malty. Medium sweet with fairly soft mouthfeel. Some licorice in the finish.
Lagers appear not be be the strong side of Dieu du Ciel. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 14, 2004 Copper color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of malt and caramel, bitter finish. Full body, lively carbonation. Dieu du Ciel doesn’t do lagers often but they still manage to do very good ones, this fine Vienna is a good example. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2004 Copper body with medium carbonation. Malty, spicy nose and flavor. Tastes medium sweet but finishes nicely off-dry. Easy to enjoy. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Aug 7, 2004 Clear amber body with a nice but diminishing bubbly head. Malty aroma with some caramel hints. Light hoppy flavors and carbonation. Taste carries a discreet sweetness and ends on a decently long and bitter final. The whole thing is well balanced. Average Vienna.
