Commercial Description:
This shimmering gold amber coloured beer has a light, smoked malt aroma. It’s well-rounded, with a great taste of malts and with a hint of sweetness. The smoky taste is quite dominant at each new draught. An original and notable beer, La Charbonnière is a house specialty.

Clear copper body with an average off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt with caramel and subtle herbal hints. Although the taste is dominated by the smokey flavors, we can notice some notes of wood, coriander and tobacco. It ends with a robust bitter finish.

Clear copper color with a thin white head. Weak aroma of smoked malt. Weak flavor of smoked malt with a bitter finish.Medium body, soft carbonation. I think they have problems finding quality smoked malt because this beer used to be so much better, a lot more smoky.

Mild sulfur in the aroma with smoke malt very apparent. Clear light copper colour with pillowy white head that stands. Bacon-like smoked flavour with strong bitterness in the finish. Medium-light body which was unexpected - i imagined t would be chewier, but curiously this was not at all a bad thing - very refreshing. Not the best of style, nor the best this brewery has to offer but certainly worth a try and I imagine it has quite the regular following. On tap.

Just like smoked salmon. Nice gold amber color but head is small. A sole beer, very good experience. The smoky final last.

I love smoked beers. When served, this copper beer reveals smokey odors, nuts and caramel. Once in the mouth, the best word to describe it is Smoked Salmon. Perfect bitterness with some floral hops. You can also have a nutty taste.

Darkish amber-copper. Tan foam. Sweet citrus & light smoke aroma. Medium body. Flavour is quite smoky (hickory, beechwood) w/ a malty (caramel), slightly salty background. Dry, smoky finish.

Pours a copper bronze color with a good off-white head. Aroma of hickory and alder smoke with some caramel malty undertones. Body is sweet, yet dry, and plenty smokey. Good flavor and complexity throughout. Just a step behind the Schlenkerla beers of Germany, but one of the best North American smoke beers I've had.
