Dominant spice anise aroma, clean and proper. Medium bodied, anise still well represented. One sided but drinkable.

Copper in colour with a small white head. Aroma had lots of anise, spices, hops, and slightly sweet. Flavour was mildly sweet, lots of anise, dry, some fruit - apples and pears. Medium body. Finishes with a long licorice flavour. Not to bad.

Dark golden, cloudy, thin white head. Aroma is mild with obvious notes of anise, yeasty dough, pears and apples. Gently fruity on the tongue, more pears and anise. Light wheaty acidity. Powerful aftertaste, spicy ginger and anise. Medium bodied, a bit oily, dusty at times. I don’t enjoy this as much as my peers, but the spice is certainly well blended.

Hazy copperish colour with moderate white head. Spicey aroma with anis and hints of bubblegum at times. Anis flavours mingle so beautifully in the flavour and linger in the aftertaste so much that my notes do not record the pleast malt and wheat that were also there. Very nice palate as well. Mondiale 2T (Capflu).

Anis figures prominently in the aroma. Hazy opaque light copper with two finger, lasting, white head. Pernod-like anis-seed flavour with biscuity underlying wheat character and notes of lemon. Lasting licorice aftertaste. Highly carbonated and refreshing. Crisp mouthfeel. On tap at the brewpub.

Sparkling star anise, licorice-y nose over shy nutmeg and wheat...Luxurious and warm caramel and wheat malt feel with cohesive anise sweetness and feathery citrus zest...Peppery liveliness perfectly integrated with the more and more prominent nutmeg, under which lie growing grassy, herbal flavors...A marvelous estival evening quaffer from one of the leading spice masters...
